Convocation members have had a long association with Graduate Women (WA).

On 26 June 2025 a group of UWA's Convocation Councillors were delighted to attend their annual dinner, held at St Catherine's College.

In her after-dinner speech, Dr Kate O'Shaughnessy, Research Director of UWA's US Asia Centre, provided a fascinating insight into the world of diplomacy from her 16 years' experience with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as a diplomat serving in Ghana, Lebanon, France and Niger and as High Commissioner to Mauritius and Seychelles and Ambassador to Madagascar and Comoros.

We were pleased to be joined by Dr Sue Boyd AM, former Guild President, Senator, and during her 34-year career in the Australian foreign service, head of Australian diplomatic missions in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Fiji.
